The Sabily team is proud to announce the launch of a new website: Bayt Al-Hikma

Bayt Al-Hikma, "House of Wisdom" (Arabic: بيت الحكمة‎) was a library and translation institute in Baghdad, Iraq. It was a key institution in the Translation Movement and considered to have been a major intellectual center of the Islamic Golden Age.
Insha'Allah, we will try through this website to pursue this intellectual effort, by providing Quran and Hadith resources and translations, as well as tools for prayers, fasting etc.

Its main features are:

  • Multi-language database of hadiths
  • Full sanads (chains of narrators) (example)
  • Commentaries can be added to hadiths
  • Biographies of rawis (narrators) (example)
  • Search engine: to search in hadiths content, by rawis (narrators), by theme etc. (not yet developped)
  • Quran module: with many translations, and a search engine (not yet developped)
  • Calendar of voluntary fasting days
  • Prayer times
  • Supplications: the most important supplications (du'as) a Muslim should know (not yet developped)
  • Favorites: feature to allow users to manage a list of their favorite hadiths (not yet developped)
  • RSS feed of the latest added hadiths
  • API for developers to integrate data in their own app or website

Later, the database of hadiths will be included in Sabily (in the Manarah software), InshaAllah.

Any help to add hadiths and translations, or any suggestions to improve the website is welcome! (contact us here)
